Online-Workshop 20-22 Sept: Novel movements for optical clocks and sensors

The workshop on new perspectives to realise the next generations of quantum clocks and precision sensors is a joint activity to conclude the two EU projects USOQS (Ultra-stable optical oscillators from quantum coherent and entangled systems) and CC4C (Coulomb Crystals for Clocks) that are funded within the Euramet EMPIR Programme.

Invited talks on techniques ranging from the realisation and control of large ion Coulomb crystals to active lasers, and from quantum-mechanical squeezing to entanglement will be given. The implementation and evaluation of the potential to go beyond the present state-of-the art in precision measurements will be addressed. With 6 external speakers and 5 speakers from the projects we hope to provide an interesting mixture of talks from world leading experts spread over three days.
